Bailey Fights Blight is a collaborative project that seeks to board up and secure blighted and vacant storefronts along Bailey Avenue, while incorporating public art as a way to beautify the neighborhood and help redevelop the commercial corridor. Thanks to a grant from the Arts Service Initiative of WNY, project partners will be working with artist Nick Miller several large scale murals along Bailey Avenue. Learn how you can get involved! Help revitalize your community by getting involved with Bailey Fights Blight. We’re taking to the street for the first of four Saturdays of service to board up and secure vacant buildings, remove graffiti, and build on Bailey Avenue’s unique identity with public art.
Buffalo Fights Blight is a test system developed in partnership between the University Heights Tool Library and the Bailey Avenue Business Association. We are using this system to help plan the Bailey Fights Blight/Future Blooms project slated for September 2014. Continue reading
