Nova “Nana Asare Asamani I” Felder is a Pan-African scholar, educator, community organizer, nonprofit leader, and traditional chief. As Educational Program Director, Nova has dedicated himself to uniting West African immigrant, African American, Afro-Latino and Caribbean-descended communities through education, cultural programming, emergency preparedness, and advocacy. Among his most impactful contributions was BABA Inc.‘s sustained response to the Twin Parks fire tragedy and the organization’s ongoing Pan-African work throughout the borough; efforts that earned Nova a citation from Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson in 2024. He continues that mission today through UBERG (United Boroughs Emergency Response Group), expanding community resilience across the boroughs. It is in that spirit of service, solidarity, and liberation; bridging the ancestral homeland of West Africa with the streets of New York City.
