Our programs provide the needed resources and services to youth and families in low income communities.
Community Emergency Management
As a partner in the Strengthening Communities Program for New York City Emergency Management, we provide community education and preparedness information related to emergencies and hazards, including extreme heat, extreme cold, flooding, fires, and other emergencies. Prior to joining this program with NYCEM, we led our own fire safety education program, an initiative following the deadly Twin Parks fire in the Bronx in 2022. Since that tragic incident, we’ve provided fire safety education to over 1,000 community members. Prepared residents are safer residents. This education can help reduce preventable harm while also helping protect homes, property, and the broader community.
Food Pantry
Once a month or more, we distribute fresh food and hot meals to families in NYC neighborhoods with high economic needs to mitigate food insecurities
Youth STEM Programs
Youth ages 10-16 in our free STEM program learn to build and engineer race cars powered by hydrogen. Students in this program work in engineering teams to design, build, test, analyze, and race hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles - building fluency in engineering, renewable energy, physics, mathematics, and teamwork.
Adult English Classes
We provide English classes to help adults in our community improve their English so they can be more qualified job applicants.
